Accessibility

Astra Estimating is committed to making our website usable for as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We want every contractor to be able to read our estimating information, find our contact details, and reach us for help, whatever tools they use to browse the web.

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the widely accepted standard for building websites that work for people who are blind or have low vision, who are deaf or hard of hearing, who have limited mobility, or who have cognitive differences.

What we do to get there

We build and review our site with these practices in mind:

  • Text is sized for readability, with a minimum body size and generous line spacing.
  • We aim for text and interface colors that meet WCAG AA contrast levels.
  • Every page can be operated with a keyboard, and interactive elements show a visible focus outline.
  • Buttons and links have clear labels, and touch targets are sized for easier tapping on phones.
  • Images that carry meaning include descriptive alternative text.
  • Animations respect the reduced-motion setting in your browser or operating system.
  • Forms label their fields and describe errors in plain language.

Known limitations

We are not perfect, and we are still improving. A small number of brand-colored call-to-action buttons use white label text on our brand colors, which does not fully meet the AA contrast target for text of that size. This is a deliberate brand choice, and we keep it under review. Some third-party content that we embed, such as scheduling and chat tools, is controlled by the vendors that provide it, and its accessibility may vary. If any of these gets in your way, please tell us and we will help you directly.
